This past weekend Ruthie and I drove to Houston so we could see our kids David and Amy and their children Lily (5) and Noah (just turned 2 today).
David and Amy went to a wedding one night and we got to babysit the grandkids, which was loads of fun.
Both were pretty well behaved that night. It was still a bit exhausting and at 63, I’m glad we don’t have 2 or 5 year olds! We had a lot of fun with Lily and Noah.
We mostly stayed around the house, went to the park, nothing very involved.
We stayed through the morning of my day-off on Memorial Day and drove back through the country, which was a great choice. We avoided most of the Interstate traffic and saw a bunch of small towns and some unusual stuff along the way.
